If there’s one roast that knows how to make an entrance, this is it. Our home-reared Aberdeen Angus Rib of Beef is dry matured for 28 days, beautifully marbled and left on the bone for an impressive centrepiece with exceptional flavour. It’s our family’s roast of choice for Christmas Dinner and the one that takes centre stage again for family gatherings throughout the festive season.

Beautifully marbled ribeye meat sits beneath a generous layer of creamy fat, while keeping the ribs intact gives you an imposing roast that looks every bit as good on the Christmas table as it tastes. As it cooks, the marbling and outer layer of fat slowly render and baste the beef, helping create succulent, juicy meat with bags of rich beef flavour.
And with ours, you know exactly where your beef comes from. Our Aberdeen Angus cattle are reared here on the family farm in Aberdeenshire, with the beef dry matured for 28 days before our Butchery team at Boghead Farm carefully prepare each Rib Roast.
For our family, Rib of Beef has always been the special-occasion roast. It takes centre stage at Christmas Dinner and comes out again for those big family gatherings, from New Year’s Day to celebrations throughout the year.
A Rib of Beef might look like serious butchery, but cooking it doesn't need to be complicated. Let the quality of the beef do the work, give it plenty of time to rest after roasting and carve the meat away from the ribs before slicing. We'll give you our Head Chef's full cooking and carving guidance below.
Serve it blushing pink with crisp roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings and plenty of proper gravy. Then put the whole joint on the table and enjoy the moment. This is Christmas beef that's meant to make an entrance.
